SFT Set to Spike as the Top CVNA Sympathy Play

Image
Carvana Co. (CVNA) has rocketed from the $4's to as high as $19 over the last month as a turnaround and short squeeze play. Shift Technologies, Inc. (SFT) is finally starting to move as a junior version of CVNA's online used car dealership service. SFT rose 33% on 26 million volume today. This is a follow up to last week when the stock saw a consistent increase in price and volume. SFT is just starting its squeeze and has a 31% short interest.  On the fundamental side, CVNA had over $14 billion in revenue over its previous four quarters. Compare

That's because they don't really make great sympathy plays. They all have floats above 10 million with total share counts in the 20 million range. MSGM has only a 460,000 float and 1.2 million shares outstanding. The best comparable for a sympathy play we can find is Edible Garden AG Incorporated (EDBL). It has an outstandingly low shares outstanding of 342,000 and float of only 162,000 after a reverse split a week ago. The chart below summarizes the opportunity on the stock: Not only does it have a much smaller float, it also has comparable revenue to these other companies despite the cheaper valuation. Its revenue multi
